My most recent adventure was a much needed trip to Florida. Though the circumstances made me somewhat of a tag-a-long, I didn't care as long as I wasn't stuck in my office sitting back in Maryland. You see, my sister's best friend Deanna lives in the sunshine state since her significant other is stationed there. They made it official on April 10, 2010 and she will now be known as Deanna Boles! Accompanying my mother since the padre is on a horrid 4pm-4am shift at work, I was lucky enough to attend the intimate ceremony AND make a snazzy little vacation out of it as well.
Congratulations, Deanna & Jake
Next stop: Savannah, GA
And what a beautiful city it is! At my sisters request, we took our rental car up to Savannah so we could really explore and see all that the town had to offer. I'm glad we decided to do it too, because we really had a great time. Not only did we eat at Paula Deen's delicious restaurant, but we took a trolley tour and learned all about the historic city, did some shopping along the old streets, ate at some more lovely places including the Goose Feathers Express Bakery & Cafe, and Vinny van Go-Go's for a late night pizza fix. Savannah is the type of town where life down-shifts and you are not going 1,000 mph. You take the time to look around and appreciate the beauty, history and wonder that is Savannah.
I couldn't resist putting up this picture (below)...it looks just like a postcard!! :)
